Our Vision and Four-Year Health Strategy
|
Our vision and new four-year strategy to improve the health and well-being of the people of Colchester and Tendring was launched in June 2010 following an extensive consultation. Our strategy describes how we will move towards our vision to improve the health and well being of people living in North East Essex, reduce health inequalities and transform health services by making resources go further by setting out the detailed strategic direction for NHS North East Essex between 2010 and 2014. It has been developed by listening carefully to the health and well being priorities of the public, patients, service users, carers, staff and partners across North East Essex. We have taken these priorities, those set by the Department of Health, and areas we know need improvement to agree five strategic objectives. Saving lives and reducing health inequalities are key priorities for us. This work includes improving health, well being and healthcare for all patients, service users and carers but particularly those from vulnerable groups and deprived communities. To achieve this, we must ensure that the local NHS gives people the best possible service and ensure care and treatment is safe and effective at all times. As the NHS comes to the end of a period of record growth, we are determined we will continue to make further improvements to local services. We will work with public, patients, service users, carers, staff and partners across North East Essex to measure our success in delivering our vision, five strategic objectives and immediate priorities for action. In addition to the views and experience of patients, service users and carers, and national measures and targets, we have identified 12 key health outcomes which we will also use to measure our success in realising our vision. If you wish to be involved in shaping the strategy actions or the way they are implemented or suggest the areas that you want us to focus on at the meetings, please provide us with your views by joining us at one of the publicised events or contact our Communications Department on 01206 286830/1/2/3 or email communications@northeastessex.nhs.uk as there are a variety of ways in which you can be involved. Your engagement would be most valued. Dr Paul Watson |
