Learn with others how to break out of these habits and lead a healthier and fuller life with other people just like you.

The Expert Patients Programme can help with one of their FREE six-week self-management courses for any adult living with any health condition such as arthritis, heart disease, Multiple Sclerosis, diabetes and respiratory diseases to name just a few.

The EPP course aims to help you take more control of your health and wellbeing by learning new skills to manage your condition on a daily basis.

Topics which are covered by the course include:

  • Dealing with pain and tiredness
  • Coping with feelings of depression
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Stretching and exercise
  • Healthy eating
  • Communicating with family, friends and health care professionals
  • Planning for the future

The EPP course is free to attend and run over six weekly sessions with each session lasting two-and-a-half-hours. Courses are lead by trained tutors who are themselves also living with a health condition but have become good self managers.

Many people who have attended EPP courses have said the course has given them greater confidence in dealing with their illness, have experienced less pain, fatigue, depression and anxiety, and are more likely to continue with exercise and relaxation.
