Join us and help tailor the local maternity services for your needs
The Maternity Services Liaison Committee (MSLC) is the voice for local people, who have used maternity services before, during and after pregnancy and for anyone else who is interested in influencing what improvements are made for the future. Fathers are more than welcome.
These services include antenatal appointments, hospital care and the care you receive at home after you have had your baby. What you say at a meeting can really help to shape the future of maternity services. This group is led by parents and supported by North East Essex Primary Care Trust, to ensure that your views are heard in the right places.
Parents are kept up to date with the local developements, and changes that are being made to the services. Your input is very important to make sure the changes are what you need and want.
Parents meet every two months, in various Children’s Centres around Colchester and Tendring. You are welcome to bring children under the age of 5.
If you would like to find out more we are happy to answer your questions or if there is a demand we would be happy to run talks on various subjects for parents to attend. Parents do not need to be a member of the group to attend these talks – you can choose the subject you would like to know more about.
You are not expected to commit to or attend every meeting just come to the ones you can and bring a friend if you wish and have a drink and a chat with us. Even if you don’t want to join the group come along to one meeting and find out what we do. If you can't come along to a meeting please email us your story about your care, what we did well and where we can make improvements.
Travel and childcare expenses will be covered (receipts should be provided), a crèche may be available at the meeting if there is sufficient prior demand. |
